Does Endurance Home Care provide home care in Spring Lake?
Yes. We provide home care throughout Spring Lake from our Short Hills office. A registered nurse comes to the house first to write the care plan with you, and you meet the caregiver before the first visit.
Care options in Spring Lake
Help for the days, the nights, or both
Some families need a few hours a week. Others want someone there overnight, or living in. Here's what each option looks like at home.
- Hourly careHelp for the hours that are hardest, from a few mornings a week to full days. Easy to add to as needs change.
- Overnight careA caregiver who stays awake through the night hours, there when someone wakes and ready to help them settle again, so everyone in the house gets some rest.
- Live-in careA caregiver lives in the home and helps through the day with meals, routines, company and the house. Agreed rest time, including a night's sleep, is part of the arrangement.
- 24-hour careCaregivers work awake shifts, usually two 12-hour or three 8-hour shifts, so someone is up and ready to help at any hour of the day or night.
Any of these can be companion care, which covers company, meals, light housekeeping, errands and rides, or personal care, which adds hands-on help with bathing, dressing and moving around safely. See how live-in care and 24-hour care differ.
Rides without a borough senior center
Monmouth County's published list of senior centers has no entry for Spring Lake, and the Spring Lake Library's page for seniors points residents to the county's Office on Aging. The county's Ride in Monmouth shared ride is open to Monmouth County residents 60 and over. It runs Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 3:30pm, gives priority to medical trips and food shopping, and needs a reservation four days ahead.
That suits a planned appointment. It leaves the trip that comes up on short notice and every weekend. A caregiver can drive your mother on the day she needs to go, stay with her through the appointment and bring her home.
Storm season, the library and meals at home
Spring Lake's Office of Emergency Management runs an emergency siren and an AM station at 1640 that broadcasts weather updates every day. It asks each household to know its home's vulnerability to storm surge, flooding and wind, and to name an out-of-state family contact. If your father lives alone near the water, a caregiver can be at the house with him when a storm is forecast.
The Spring Lake Library at 1501 Third Avenue helps with phones, laptops and tablets by appointment, and its notary is free by appointment on weekdays except Thursdays. For meals at home, the county's list of home-delivered meal providers starts with Interfaith Neighbors. A caregiver fits around all of it, with the company, the cooking and the daily help in between.

Questions Spring Lake families ask
Does Spring Lake have a senior center?
Monmouth County's published list of senior centers has no entry for Spring Lake. The library's senior resources page points to the county's Office on Aging in Freehold, which can tell your family what is available. If a program interests your parent, a caregiver can take them and stay with them.
Can my mother use the Monmouth County shared ride from Spring Lake?
If she is 60 or older and lives in Monmouth County, she can ask for a ride. Service runs Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 3:30pm, medical trips and food shopping come first, and the reservation is made four days ahead. For evenings, weekends or an appointment that comes up sooner, a caregiver can drive her.
What should a parent living alone near the shore have in place for storms?
The borough's Office of Emergency Management recommends knowing your home's vulnerability to storm surge, flooding and wind, choosing a safe area in the home, and naming a family contact who lives out of state. A caregiver who knows the plan can be with your parent when a storm is forecast and let you know how the day went.
How do families pay for home care?
Care with Endurance is private pay. If your parent has a long-term care insurance policy, we can help with the policy paperwork. Medicare does not pay for ongoing daily help at home.
