Yes. With live-in home care from Endurance, a caregiver lives in the home and helps with everyday life: meals, the house, errands, reminders, company and, where it’s needed, hands-on personal care. The person you’re caring for keeps their own routine and their own way of doing things, with steady help close by.

Company and agreed help

A day might start with breakfast the way your mother likes it, then help getting washed and dressed if that’s part of the plan. There’s time for a walk, a ride to an appointment, lunch, the laundry and a reminder when a medication is due. The caregiver does what you’ve agreed together, at the pace of the person they’re helping.

The night

Rest is part of the arrangement

The caregiver has a private bedroom and a proper night’s sleep, with breaks during the day too. They’re in the house if something comes up, and live-in care works best when the nights are mostly settled. When someone is up often in the night, overnight care or 24-hour care puts a caregiver on awake shifts.

Live-in care runs well past 40 hours a week, so the in-home figure is a starting point, not a quote. We’ll price your actual schedule at the in-home assessment. If there’s a long-term care policy, it may pay toward care at home, and we can help you read it: help with long-term care insurance.

Optional: 24/7 audio alerts

An optional audio alert service can run alongside the caregiver’s hours. Alerts go to the same office team that schedules your caregivers.

The caregiver does the caring, and the alerts are a backup. When the system picks up something unusual, it notifies our team and a person follows up within five minutes. On a live-in schedule it covers the hours the caregiver is asleep. How the audio alerts work.

We start with the life you have now
A registered nurse visits at home, gets to know everyone and writes the care plan with your family. It covers the help that's needed and the things that matter: the meals they like, when they like to get up, the programs they never miss.
Work time and rest, agreed up front
The plan sets out the caregiver's working hours, breaks and night's rest, so everyone knows how the day runs. If the nights start getting busy, we'll talk with you about adding awake help overnight.
Days off are covered
When the live-in caregiver has days off, a second caregiver covers them. The backup plan is written into the care plan.
You'll know who to call
Your Care Manager keeps you posted and adjusts the plan when needs change. If something isn't working, tell us and we'll make it right.

Every caregiver passes background checks, reference checks and a check of every qualification and certification before we hire them, and training continues every month through an online program.

Coming home from the hospital?

Give us the discharge date and we’ll plan around it. Endurance Homebound covers the first 72 hours home.

The cost depends on the schedule and the help needed. Endurance is private pay, and if there’s a long-term care insurance policy, we’ll help with the paperwork: help with long-term care insurance. What does a live-in caregiver do?

A live-in caregiver helps with everyday life at home: meals, laundry, tidying, errands, rides, reminders and company. On a personal care plan, they also help with bathing, dressing and the bathroom. What they do each day is agreed with your family and written into the care plan.

Does a live-in caregiver stay awake at night?

No. A live-in caregiver has a proper night's sleep, along with breaks during the day. They're in the house if something comes up, and the arrangement works best when the nights are mostly settled. If someone needs help often during the night, overnight care or 24-hour care gives you a caregiver who is awake.

What does our household need to provide?

A private bedroom for the caregiver and food while they're living in. We'll go through the practical details with you before care begins.

What happens on the caregiver's days off?

What if needs change?
