How we screen caregivers
Before you ask about cost, you’ll want to know who is coming into the house and what was checked first. Here’s what every caregiver goes through before we hire them.

We never skip it because a schedule is tight and a household needs coverage by Thursday. A caregiver who hasn’t cleared all three doesn’t go into a home, and the sequence doesn’t shorten when the week is busy.

How does Endurance Home Care screen caregivers?
Every Endurance Home Care caregiver passes background checks, reference checks and verification of qualifications and certifications before hire. New caregivers go through orientation before their first shift and keep training every month, and we choose each caregiver for the household's routines and personality, not only for who is available.
Training doesn’t stop once a caregiver is hired.
Endurance runs an extensive Care Professional training program. It covers disease states and health and wellness, and caregivers train with us every month. Caregivers take three-hour dementia sessions, and our nurses hold the eight-hour Certified Dementia Educator certification, so the people helping someone living with dementia know what the days can bring.
Our mission has two halves: caring well for our clients, and providing enriching opportunities for our care professionals. Caregivers who feel supported tend to stay, and a familiar face is something families notice first.

We choose a caregiver for your parent’s routines, preferences and personality, not only for who is free. Someone who suits a quiet house with a crossword on the table may not suit a busy one with grandchildren in and out all afternoon. You can ask to meet more than one caregiver before choosing, and some families do.
If a match isn’t working, tell us and we’ll find someone else. Your Care Coordinator looks after the match, and your Care Manager keeps you posted on how things are going. When the match is right, the sentence families use almost always focuses on temperament over tasks.

Can families interview caregivers before choosing one?
You can ask to. We choose a caregiver for your parent and introduce them before the first visit, and some families meet more than one caregiver before choosing. One family was matched right away with an aide who showed true flexibility around scheduling, unwavering patience, and a warm, empathetic approach. If a match isn't working, tell us and we'll find someone else.

What training do Endurance caregivers receive?
Endurance caregivers go through orientation before their first shift and then train with us every month. Our extensive Care Professional training program covers disease states and health and wellness. Caregivers take three-hour dementia sessions, and our nurses hold the eight-hour Certified Dementia Educator certification.
