About Endurance Home Care

We understand where you are. We were customers of home care before we built Endurance.

Stamford, CT · Short Hills, NJ · Family owned · Connecticut License HCA.0002450 · New Jersey License HP0435100 · Connecticut DPH License 9915786 (Endurance Home Health)

Endurance Home Care is a family business founded in Stamford, Connecticut by brothers Chris and Tom Weldon with home care executive Andrew Schwartz, after the brothers cared for their own grandmother with dementia.

Endurance Home Care provides care at home in Connecticut and New Jersey, with companion care only in New York. Skilled nursing, home health aides and physical therapy in Connecticut are provided by Endurance Home Health.

Who founded Endurance Home Care?

Brothers Chris and Tom Weldon founded Endurance Home Care with Andrew Schwartz, a seasoned home care executive. Chris and Tom recognized the need for high-quality home care while caring for their grandmother with dementia, and the agency's mission is to improve the quality and duration of clients' lives while providing enriching opportunities for its care professionals.

  1. The winter somebody had to be in the house

Chris and Tom Weldon are brothers. Before there was an agency there was a grandmother living with dementia, and the two of them learning, one long stretch at a time, what a household absorbs when somebody at home needs steady company. They learned which hours of a day are the hard ones. They learned what a good day looks like from inside of one, and how much of it comes down to whether the person who walks through the door is the right person for that house. None of that arrives from a market study.

  2. The third name in the book

They built the agency with Andrew Schwartz, a seasoned home care executive, who brought the operating half: how a shift gets covered at five in the morning, how caregivers are hired and kept, what a family should be able to expect in writing before anyone is let through the door. Two founders who had lived it, one who had run it. It also drew the map. The brothers live in Fairfield County, Connecticut, and Andrew, the chief executive, is from New Jersey, which is why the agency runs out of two offices rather than one and why the New Jersey market was never an afterthought. That argument is still the one the company has with itself, and you can meet the Endurance Home Care team to see how it settled.

The mission, in the words we actually use

To improve the quality and duration of our clients lives and provide enriching opportunities for our care professionals.

One sentence, two halves, and the second half is the one most agencies leave off entirely. A day at home only holds together if the caregiver inside it wants to be there again next week. So the same sentence that commits us to the household commits us to the person we send into it: how they are hired, how they are trained, what the schedule asks of them, and whether anyone at the office knows their name. Families feel the result before they can name it. The same caregiver comes back. Tuesday runs the way Friday ran. If you would rather read the mechanics than the sentence, here is how we screen and train caregivers.

Endurance launched in Fairfield County in 2024, described in launch coverage as a concierge care model serving the private pay market. The Connecticut office is at 60 Long Ridge Rd, Suite #214 in Stamford, the New Jersey office is at 788 Morris Turnpike, Suite 201 in Short Hills. Home care in Connecticut and New Jersey; companion care only in New York.

The direction of travel is the part worth reading twice. In a June 2026 interview, McKnight’s Home Care reported that Endurance had hired nearly 500 caregivers in the prior year, and more than 800 have been hired since founding. Hiring at that rate is not a vanity number, and neither is the ratio behind it: it is the reason a shift gets covered when somebody calls out before dawn, rather than a phone call telling a family that nobody is coming today.

Households can also add an optional audio check in service, which alerts the Endurance team so they can respond. It does not diagnose, treat, or assess anyone. For the dated coverage itself, including who reported what and when, read Endurance Home Care in the news.

Coverage is stated per market, and each market says what it actually offers: New York is companion care only, because no New York State licence is held or claimed. Connecticut License HCA.0002450 · New Jersey License HP0435100 · Connecticut DPH License 9915786 (Endurance Home Health).

We started this for our grandmother, and we still answer the phone ourselves.

Endurance is a Silver tier corporate partner of the Aging Life Care Association, the professional body behind the Care Managers families bring in when a situation has more moving parts than one household can hold. A partnership is worth exactly what happens on the phone afterward. The registration number is on the public record, the office has a street address, and the people whose grandmother started this still take calls. Begin with our home care services in Stamford.

The offices are in Stamford and Short Hills, and the work runs across Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.

There is no intake portal and no queue. One call reaches a person on the Client Support Line, and the conversation starts where your family actually is rather than where a form thinks it should be.

What is Endurance Home Care's mission?

How big is Endurance Home Care today?

Per a June 2026 McKnight's Home Care interview with co-founder Chris Weldon, Endurance hired nearly 500 caregivers in the prior year.
