A family business that started with a grandmother.
We help families arrange care at home, from a few hours a week to live-in and 24-hour care. It started when two brothers cared for their own grandmother, and that still shapes how we work.

Endurance Home Care is a family business founded in Stamford, Connecticut by brothers Chris and Tom Weldon with home care executive Andrew Schwartz, after the brothers cared for their own grandmother with dementia.
Who founded Endurance Home Care?
Brothers Chris and Tom Weldon founded Endurance Home Care after caring for their own grandmother with dementia. They started the company with Andrew Schwartz, an experienced home care executive who is now CEO. Endurance opened in Stamford, Connecticut in 2024 and also has an office in Short Hills, New Jersey.
It started with their grandmother
Chris and Tom Weldon are brothers. When their grandmother was living with dementia, they helped care for her, and that showed them how much a family needs good help at home. It’s why we care so much about who comes through the door, and why your family will always know who to call.
The people running it today
Chris and Tom founded Endurance with Andrew Schwartz, an experienced home care executive who is our CEO. Andrew brought the operating half: how a shift gets covered at five in the morning, how caregivers are hired and kept, and what a family should be able to expect in writing before anyone is let through the door. The brothers live in Fairfield County, Connecticut, and Andrew is from New Jersey, which is why we run two offices. Endurance opened in Stamford, Connecticut in 2024, and now has a second office in Short Hills, New Jersey. You can meet the Endurance Home Care team behind your family’s care.
What that means for your family
When you’re bringing help into the house, what matters most is the person who comes through the door and knowing who to call. Here’s how we look after both.
- A caregiver chosen for your household
- We choose a caregiver for your mother's routines, preferences and personality, and introduce them before the first visit. If it isn't working, tell us and we'll find someone else.
- A nurse helps write the plan
- A registered nurse visits at home, listens to everyone and writes the care plan with your family. The plan is reviewed as needs change, and a backup plan is part of it.
- A team behind the schedule
- We've hired more than 800 caregivers since founding. Every caregiver passes background and reference checks before hire, goes through orientation before the first shift and keeps training every month.
- People you can call by name
- Your Care Manager looks after the plan and keeps you posted, even if you live far away. Your Care Coordinator looks after the schedule and the caregiver. You'll know who to call when something changes.
- Help that changes when needs change
- Add hours after a hospital stay, bring in overnight help when the nights get harder, or move to live-in care. We adjust the plan with you.

Both halves matter to us. Good days at home depend on caregivers who feel supported and want to come back next week, so looking after them is part of looking after your family.
Where we are today
Our caregivers work with families across Connecticut, New Jersey and New York, from the Stamford office at 60 Long Ridge Rd, Suite #214 and the Short Hills office at 788 Morris Turnpike, Suite 201. We provide personal care in Connecticut and New Jersey. In New York we provide companion care, by the hour, overnight, live-in or around the clock.
In a June 2026 interview, McKnight’s Home Care reported that Endurance had hired nearly 500 caregivers in the prior year, and more than 800 have been hired since founding. Hiring at that rate is the reason a shift gets covered when somebody calls out before dawn, rather than a phone call telling a family that nobody is coming today. Some families also add optional audio monitoring, which listens for events rather than conversations and alerts our team. Your family decides whether to use it. Who will we deal with once care starts?
Two people at Endurance look after your family. Your Care Manager looks after the care plan and keeps you updated, and your Care Coordinator looks after the schedule and the caregiver match. A registered nurse writes the plan with you at the start and reviews it as needs change.
