Does Endurance Home Care provide home care in Morris Township?

Yes. We provide home care throughout Morris Township from our Short Hills office, about 23 minutes away. Care can be hourly, awake overnight, live-in or around the clock, and it can be companion care or personal care with hands-on help, including memory support at home. A registered nurse visits first and writes the care plan with you, and we introduce the caregiver before the first visit.

Morris Township or Morristown?

Morris Township and the Town of Morristown are separate municipalities, and the addresses overlap. The township's municipal building is at 50 Woodland Avenue with a Morristown, NJ 07960 street address, and its mailing address is in Convent Station, 07961. The two share one library, the Morristown & Morris Township Library at 1 Miller Road.

For care it makes no difference, because we serve both from Short Hills. It matters when you look up programs for your mother, since the township's own are listed under Morris Township and much of the rest comes from Morris County.

The Senior Club, and help from the county

Morris County's directory of senior centers doesn't list one in Morris Township; it lists centers in nearby towns such as Morristown and Florham Park. The township's Senior Club, for residents 60 and over, meets at Newbridge Church, 57 Kahdena Road, at 1 PM on the first Tuesday of most months, with day trips, a May Gala and a holiday party. Applications go to Parks & Recreation at 50 Woodland Avenue.

Morris County's MAPS gives curb-to-curb shared rides to residents 60 and over for medical trips, social services and grocery shopping. Home Delivered Meals brings five meals a week, at no cost with a suggested donation of $2.00 per meal, for county residents who are at least 60 and disabled, homebound, and not always physically able to shop, cook or feed themselves, and Libraries by Mail delivers library books free to residents who can't get to their library. A caregiver adds what curb-to-curb leaves out: help to the door and inside, company at the appointment, and the rest of the day at home.

Getting started

How care is arranged in Morris Township

It starts with a conversation, and nothing begins until you say so.

  1. A conversation

Call or send a request. Tell us who needs help, where they live and what's been getting harder. You don't need the right words.

  2. A nurse visits at home

A registered nurse comes to the house in Morris Township, gets to know everyone and writes the care plan with you.

  3. You meet the caregiver

We choose a caregiver for the routines and preferences that matter and introduce them before the first visit. If it isn't working, we find someone else.

  4. Updates as you go

Your Care Manager keeps you posted and changes the plan with you when needs change.

Questions Morris Township families ask

Is Morris Township the same as Morristown?

No. They're separate municipalities that share a library, and the township's municipal building uses a Morristown street address. We serve families in both from our Short Hills office, about 23 minutes from Morris Township.

Does Morris Township have a senior center?

Morris County's directory of senior centers doesn't list one in the township; it lists centers in nearby towns such as Morristown and Florham Park. The township's Senior Club, for residents 60 and over, meets at Newbridge Church on Kahdena Road at 1 PM on the first Tuesday of most months, and annual dues are $10. A caregiver can drive your parent there and back.

How does MAPS work for township residents?

MAPS, the Morris Area Paratransit System, gives curb-to-curb shared rides to Morris County residents who are 60 or over, disabled or veterans, for medical trips, social services and grocery shopping. A caregiver can get your parent ready and out to the curb, or drive them when a shared ride won't suit.

Can care start around a hospital discharge?

Yes. Tell us the day your father is expected home and we'll plan help around it, from a few hours a day to someone there overnight. Your Care Manager adjusts the hours with you as he settles back in.
