Milford's two senior vans
Milford has two separate ride services for older residents. The Milford Transit District runs a door-to-door van for people 60 and over and people with disabilities, within Milford and out to the Bridgeport and New Haven areas. Call ahead to book. The Senior Center on Jepson Drive runs its own van, with medical and dental trips Monday to Thursday from 10:30am to 12:30pm and grocery runs on Wednesdays and Fridays.
A caregiver can drive to the appointments that fall outside those hours, and help with the rest of the day: getting ready, a meal, the shopping put away and some company. What the two vans don't cover is Friday medical trips, afternoons, evenings and the weekend, and that's where we start. Call and tell us the schedule.

What if my father also needs nursing or therapy?
For skilled nursing, home health aides or physical therapy, Endurance Home Health, our separate company that provides them in Connecticut only, can help. Our caregivers handle daily life: personal care, meals, the house, medication reminders and company, and where a doctor or a home health nurse already has a plan running, we build our hours around it.
How do families pay for home care?
Care with Endurance is private pay. If your parent has a long-term care insurance policy, we can help with the policy paperwork. Medicare doesn't pay for ongoing daily help at home.
