Does Endurance Home Care provide home care in Kent?

Yes. We provide home care throughout Kent from our Stamford office. Your family can choose hourly visits, awake overnight care, live-in care or care around the clock, as companion care or personal care with hands-on help. A registered nurse comes to the house first to write the care plan with you, and you meet the caregiver before the first visit.

The senior center and the Dial-A-Ride van

The Kent Senior Center is attached to the Templeton Farms building. The entrance is on the side closest to Route 341, and the door reads Kent Senior Center & Nutrition Site. The town posts a newsletter and calendar for each quarter, and registration goes through the Social Services office.

The Northwestern Connecticut Transit District's Dial-A-Ride is a curb-to-curb van service. Kent and Warren riders go on Mondays and Wednesdays, to New Milford, Kent and Warren, and the bus hours run from 8 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon. Seats are first come, first served, with at least 24 hours' notice, and a one-way trip is $2. A caregiver is there on the other days and in the evenings, and can drive your mother to a Tuesday appointment or stay through a long one.

Meals, Medicare help and the tax credit

Meals on Wheels brings prepared meals to the home for people 60 or older who are homebound and can't prepare or get nourishing meals on their own, and the town's resources page links to the Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging for details. Kent Social Services helps with SNAP, cash assistance, Medicaid and Husky, and Social Security Disability applications, and its resources page points to CHOICES, the state's health insurance counseling program, and to a free prescription drug card.

The Assessor's Office, open Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 to 4, takes applications each year for the state's elderly homeowner tax credit, and first-year applicants apply in person. For 2026 the window ran from February 1 to May 15. A caregiver fits around all of it, with the meals, company and daily help in between.

Getting started

How care is arranged in Kent

It starts with a conversation, and nothing begins until you say so.

  1. A conversation

Call or send a request. Tell us who needs help, where they live and what's been getting harder. You don't need the right words.

  2. A nurse visits at home

A registered nurse comes to the house in Kent, gets to know everyone and writes the care plan with you.

  3. You meet the caregiver

We choose a caregiver for the routines and preferences that matter and introduce them before the first visit. If it isn't working, we find someone else.

  4. Updates as you go

Your Care Manager keeps you posted and changes the plan with you when needs change.
