Does Endurance Home Care provide home care in Salisbury?
Yes. We provide home care throughout Salisbury, including Lakeville and Lime Rock, from our Stamford office. Your family can choose hourly visits, awake overnight care, live-in care or care around the clock, as companion care or personal care with hands-on help. A registered nurse comes to the house first to write the care plan with you, and you meet the caregiver before the first visit.
Care options in Salisbury
Help for the days, the nights, or both
Some families need a few hours a week. Others want someone there overnight, or living in. Here's what each option looks like at home.
- Hourly careHelp for the hours that are hardest, from a few mornings a week to full days. Easy to add to as needs change.
- Overnight careA caregiver who stays awake through the night hours, there when someone wakes and ready to help them settle again, so everyone in the house gets some rest.
- Live-in careA caregiver lives in the home and helps through the day with meals, routines, company and the house. Agreed rest time, including a night's sleep, is part of the arrangement.
- 24-hour careCaregivers work awake shifts, usually two 12-hour or three 8-hour shifts, so someone is up and ready to help at any hour of the day or night.
Any of these can be companion care, which covers company, meals, light housekeeping, errands and rides, or personal care, which adds hands-on help with bathing, dressing and moving around safely. See how live-in care and 24-hour care differ.
Lunch at the Town Grove, and the days it isn't served
The Salisbury Seniors gather at the Town Grove Recreational Building, Monday through Friday, and the Lakeville Nutrition Program serves lunch there Tuesday through Thursday at noon. Reservations must be made at least a day ahead, and the suggested donation is $5 for people 65 and up. There is a free, drop-in Tai Chi class at the Senior Center on Wednesdays, no registration needed.
The Senior Services director keeps office hours Monday to Thursday from 9 to 11 in the morning. The office is a place to ask for information and referrals, and the town's list of resources includes transportation to medical appointments and shopping, chore services and home care. A caregiver is the person who is there on Mondays and Fridays, in the afternoons and in the evenings, and who can drive and stay through an appointment.
Family Services, library delivery and Medicare help
Salisbury Family Services, at 30A Salmon Kill Road, serves Salisbury, Lakeville, Amesville, Lime Rock and Taconic. Its social worker handles case management, home visits and referrals, and the agency offers transportation assistance. Scoville Memorial Library delivers to residents who can't get to the library, including during a recovery from illness, injury or surgery. It takes a current library card and an application, which a family member can fill out.
At Medicare open enrollment, a CHOICES counselor from the Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging has held one-on-one sessions at the Grove Building, and pre-registration is required. A caregiver fits around all of it, with the meals, company and daily help in between.

Can the Scoville Memorial Library bring books to my mother at home?
Yes, for residents who can't get to the library, including those recovering from illness, injury or surgery. She needs a current library card and a Home Delivery Services application, and a family member can handle both. A caregiver can be there when the books arrive and keep her company while she picks what to read.

How do families pay for home care?
Care with Endurance is private pay. If your parent has a long-term care insurance policy, we can help with the policy paperwork. Medicare does not pay for ongoing daily help at home.
