Does Endurance Home Care provide home care in Simsbury?

Yes. We provide home care throughout Simsbury, including West Simsbury, Weatogue and Tariffville, from our Stamford office. Your family can choose hourly visits, awake overnight care, live-in care or care around the clock, as companion care or personal care with hands-on help. A registered nurse comes to the house first to write the care plan with you, and you meet the caregiver before the first visit.

Booking Dial-A-Ride, and the trips it can't make

Simsbury's Dial-A-Ride is door-to-door Monday to Friday around Simsbury, West Simsbury, Tariffville and Weatogue, for residents 60 and older. Reservations are made between 8 a.m. and noon, at least the day before, and in-town medical appointments can be scheduled up to three weeks ahead. Same-day appointments are never accepted. The bus also goes to Granby on Tuesday mornings and to Avon on Wednesdays and Fridays, and when space is short, medical appointments and food shopping come first.

The town arranges up to two out-of-town medical appointments a month for each rider, and Social Services keeps a list of other transportation resources for when Dial-A-Ride can't help. A caregiver can drive on the days the bus isn't going where your mother needs to be, take a same-day appointment, and stay with her through the visit.

Lunch, screenings and a Friday that ends at 1

The Senior Center in Eno Memorial Hall welcomes adults 50 and over. Lunch Cafe is served on Tuesdays from 11:30 to 12:45, with soup and sandwiches for $2 each and no registration. Lunch at Eno is on Wednesdays at noon, registered for by 10 a.m. the Friday before. Free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings are held on Wednesdays from 11:30 to 1:30, with no appointment, and the center has hosted A Matter of Balance, a fall-prevention program.

Community and Social Services is in the same building and runs the Senior Outreach Program. A caregiver adds the lunch on the days there isn't one, Friday afternoons once the center has closed, and the evenings and weekends.

Getting started

How care is arranged in Simsbury

It starts with a conversation, and nothing begins until you say so.

  1. A conversation

Call or send a request. Tell us who needs help, where they live and what's been getting harder. You don't need the right words.

  2. A nurse visits at home

A registered nurse comes to the house in Simsbury, gets to know everyone and writes the care plan with you.

  3. You meet the caregiver

We choose a caregiver for the routines and preferences that matter and introduce them before the first visit. If it isn't working, we find someone else.

  4. Updates as you go

Your Care Manager keeps you posted and changes the plan with you when needs change.
