Does Endurance Home Care provide home care in Canton?
Yes. We provide live-in home care throughout Canton, including Collinsville, from our Stamford office. A caregiver lives in the home and helps through the day with meals, routines, company and the house, as companion care or personal care with hands-on help, with agreed rest time built in. A registered nurse comes to the house first to write the care plan with you, and you meet the caregiver before the first day.
Care options in Canton
Live-in care, with someone there through the day
In Hartford County our care is live-in. A caregiver lives in the home, keeps the day running and is there when your parent needs a hand.
Live-in care can be companion care, which covers company, meals, light housekeeping, errands and rides, or personal care, which adds hands-on help with bathing, dressing and moving around safely. How live-in care works.
Dial-A-Ride, and the rides between
Canton's Dial-A-Ride gives rides on weekdays, and town volunteers also drive seniors to doctors' appointments. Rides are reserved at least 24 hours ahead, Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and noon, and there are no weekend hours. Dial-A-Ride is open to residents 60 and older, and to adults over 18 with a certified permanent disability, and membership is $50 a person.
A live-in caregiver can take the appointment that comes up the same day, a Saturday errand or an evening visit with family, and stay with your mother through it, then get her settled back at home.
Lunch at the Canton Cafe, and the days without one
The Canton Cafe serves lunch at the Senior Center on Mondays and Wednesdays between 12 and 1, for residents $5 to dine in or $6 for takeout. Monday lunch is reserved by Thursday at noon and Wednesday lunch by Monday at noon. The Senior Center is open Monday to Thursday, 7:30 to 4:15, and is closed on Fridays. For meals at home, Meals on Wheels can deliver two meals a day to homebound seniors or people recovering from illness or surgery.
In winter, town volunteers shovel walkways and driveways for senior residents, and the Municipal Agent for the Elderly is the person to call with any senior-related question. A live-in caregiver makes the lunch on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, keeps company through the afternoon, and helps with getting ready for the day.
