Does Endurance Home Care provide home care in Holmdel?
Yes. We provide home care throughout Holmdel from our Short Hills office. Your family can choose hourly visits, awake overnight care, live-in care or care around the clock, as companion care or personal care with hands-on help. A registered nurse comes to the house first to write the care plan with you, and you meet the caregiver before the first visit.
Care options in Holmdel
Help for the days, the nights, or both
Some families need a few hours a week. Others want someone there overnight, or living in. Here's what each option looks like at home.
- Hourly careHelp for the hours that are hardest, from a few mornings a week to full days. Easy to add to as needs change.
- Overnight careA caregiver who stays awake through the night hours, there when someone wakes and ready to help them settle again, so everyone in the house gets some rest.
- Live-in careA caregiver lives in the home and helps through the day with meals, routines, company and the house. Agreed rest time, including a night's sleep, is part of the arrangement.
- 24-hour careCaregivers work awake shifts, usually two 12-hour or three 8-hour shifts, so someone is up and ready to help at any hour of the day or night.
Any of these can be companion care, which covers company, meals, light housekeeping, errands and rides, or personal care, which adds hands-on help with bathing, dressing and moving around safely. See how live-in care and 24-hour care differ.
The Senior/Community Center, and the ride there
Holmdel's Senior/Community Center is at 6 Crawfords Corner Road. The Parks and Recreation Department runs classes there, such as cooking, ballroom dancing and yoga, and the Half Century Club meets in the Senior Center at noon on the first and third Tuesdays of the month.
Rides come from Monmouth County. Its Shared Ride takes residents 60 and over on weekdays from 7:30am to 3:30pm, gives priority to medical trips and food shopping, and asks for a reservation four days ahead. A caregiver covers what a four-day booking and a 3:30 finish can't: a late appointment, a change of plans midweek, or going along to the club and staying until it's time to head home.
What Holmdel Police set up for residents at home
If your mother lives alone and has a medical condition, the Holmdel Police Crime Prevention Unit will install a free lock box on the house. When responders arrive and the door is locked from the inside, they can open it with a key instead of forcing a door or window. Residents are asked to call the unit before sending in the application. The Monmouth County Special Needs Registry is a voluntary way to give first responders a registrant's emergency contacts, and police will take a House Check request when you're away.
A caregiver can sit down with your mother to look over the lock box application and the registry form, and be in the house when someone arrives. The township's fall prevention page suggests grab bars in the tub and around the toilet, and a caregiver is the person who notices what in the house has become harder day to day.

Questions Holmdel families ask
Where is Holmdel's senior center, and what goes on there?
The Senior/Community Center is at 6 Crawfords Corner Road. Parks and Recreation holds classes there, such as cooking, ballroom dancing and yoga, and the Half Century Club meets in the Senior Center at noon on the first and third Tuesdays. A caregiver can drive your parent there and stay.
What is the Holmdel Police senior lock box?
It is a free lock box, installed free by the Police Crime Prevention Unit, for residents who live alone and have a medical condition. Responding officers can open the door with a key rather than forcing it. Call the unit before you send in the application. A caregiver can help your parent with the paperwork.
How does the county Shared Ride work for someone in Holmdel?
It serves residents 60 and over and people with disabilities on weekdays from 7:30am to 3:30pm. Riders reserve four days ahead, and medical trips and food shopping come first. For later appointments or a same-week change, a caregiver can drive and stay through the visit.
How do families pay for home care?
Care with Endurance is private pay. If your parent has a long-term care insurance policy, we can help with the policy paperwork. Medicare does not pay for ongoing daily help at home.
