Home care in Haddon Heights
In Haddon Heights, a week can have a shape: cards on Wednesday afternoon, the social group on Friday morning at the Community Center. Help at home can keep that shape for your mother or father, and fill in the hours around it.

Does Endurance Home Care provide home care in Haddon Heights?
Yes. We provide home care throughout Haddon Heights from our Short Hills office. Your family can choose hourly visits, awake overnight care, live-in care or care around the clock, as companion care or personal care with hands-on help. A registered nurse comes to the house first to write the care plan with you, and you meet the caregiver before the first visit.
Care options in Haddon Heights
Help for the days, the nights, or both
Some families need a few hours a week. Others want someone there overnight, or living in. Here's what each option looks like at home.
- Hourly careHelp for the hours that are hardest, from a few mornings a week to full days. Easy to add to as needs change.
- Overnight careA caregiver who stays awake through the night hours, there when someone wakes and ready to help them settle again, so everyone in the house gets some rest.
- Live-in careA caregiver lives in the home and helps through the day with meals, routines, company and the house. Agreed rest time, including a night's sleep, is part of the arrangement.
- 24-hour careCaregivers work awake shifts, usually two 12-hour or three 8-hour shifts, so someone is up and ready to help at any hour of the day or night.
Any of these can be companion care, which covers company, meals, light housekeeping, errands and rides, or personal care, which adds hands-on help with bathing, dressing and moving around safely. See how live-in care and 24-hour care differ.
Cards, crafts and the Friday morning group
The Senior Social Group meets on Fridays from 10am to noon at the Haddon Heights Community Center, 321 Seventh Avenue, with games, crafts, talks and bingo. The borough lists it for residents 55 and older, and the schedule can change, so check it with the borough. There is no cost and no pre-registration. The borough's senior clubs also meet in the Community Center Senior Room: Hand and Foot cards on Wednesdays and Pinochle on Thursdays from 1 to 4pm, and Mah Jong on Fridays from 1 to 4pm. None of them charge a fee or ask you to register.
Haddon Heights has no senior center of its own, so these clubs are where much of the week's company happens. A caregiver can help your father get ready, go with him and bring him home, and be there on the days no club meets.
County rides, meals and a check-in call
For rides, the county's SEN-HAN Transit serves residents 60 and older. Medical rides are booked by phone two days to two weeks ahead on weekdays, personal-business rides three days ahead, and a weekly shopping service the working day before. Camden County also runs Home Delivered Meals for homebound seniors, and its Telephone Reassurance volunteers call shut-in seniors daily at pre-arranged times. The Haddon Heights Library will deliver items to shut-ins when asked.
Two borough details are worth knowing. The borough takes sewer utility fee exemption applications at Borough Hall, so ask whether your parent qualifies, and the state's RegisterREADY program lets your mother register any special needs ahead of an emergency. A caregiver adds what none of these cover: an appointment that came up too soon to book, a hand with the meal when it arrives, and company in between the calls.

Questions Haddon Heights families ask
Do the Haddon Heights senior clubs charge a fee?
No. The Senior Social Group on Friday mornings and the cards and Mah Jong afternoons at the Community Center have no fee, and none ask you to register. A caregiver can help your parent get there and back.
How does a parent in Haddon Heights get to a doctor's appointment?
Camden County's SEN-HAN Transit offers rides to residents 60 and older, booked by phone, medical rides two days to two weeks ahead and personal-business rides three days ahead, on weekdays. For a visit that comes up sooner, or when you'd like someone to stay through the appointment, a caregiver can drive and go in with your parent.
Can the library bring books to my mother at home?
The Haddon Heights Library says it will deliver items to shut-ins if requested, and asks you to call the library for details. A caregiver can pick up and return books too, and sit with her while she reads.
How do families pay for home care?
Care with Endurance is private pay. If your parent has a long-term care insurance policy, we can help with the policy paperwork. Medicare does not pay for ongoing daily help at home.
