Does Endurance Home Care provide home care in Medford?
Yes. We provide home care throughout Medford from our Short Hills office. A registered nurse comes to the house first to write the care plan with you, and you meet the caregiver before the first visit.
Care options in Medford
Help for the days, the nights, or both
Some families need a few hours a week. Others want someone there overnight, or living in. Here's what each option looks like at home.
- Hourly careHelp for the hours that are hardest, from a few mornings a week to full days. Easy to add to as needs change.
- Overnight careA caregiver who stays awake through the night hours, there when someone wakes and ready to help them settle again, so everyone in the house gets some rest.
- Live-in careA caregiver lives in the home and helps through the day with meals, routines, company and the house. Agreed rest time, including a night's sleep, is part of the arrangement.
- 24-hour careCaregivers work awake shifts, usually two 12-hour or three 8-hour shifts, so someone is up and ready to help at any hour of the day or night.
Any of these can be companion care, which covers company, meals, light housekeeping, errands and rides, or personal care, which adds hands-on help with bathing, dressing and moving around safely. See how live-in care and 24-hour care differ.
Cranberry Hall, open every day
The Cranberry Hall Senior Center at 44 Charles Street is open daily from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Programs include bridge, pinochle, knitting, an investment discussion group, genealogy, Mah Jongg, a senior tennis group, a senior pickleball group and several exercise programs. You can also just show up to meet your neighbors, borrow a book or magazine from the donor library, or join a casual board or card game at the tables. Friday Nite Fun & Games follows dinner out at a local restaurant, and the building has a covered ramp entrance at the front and accessible restrooms.
A caregiver can help your father get ready for a morning at Cranberry Hall, drive him there and bring him home. Then the caregiver is with him for the hours after 4 and the weekend, with meals, company and the house.
Rides, meals and books from Burlington County
SEN-HAN Transit gives rides to Burlington County residents 60 or older: non-emergency medical rides on weekdays, based on availability, and personal business rides to a destination within five miles of home. Burlington County Meals on Wheels delivers to home bound residents 60 or older, Monday through Friday between 9am and 3pm, with regular and diabetic diets. The Burlington County Library System mails books, DVDs and CDs to your home. And residents 62 and older in the Lenape Regional High School District, Medford included, can get a Golden Age Pass for free admission to concerts, plays and athletic events at Lenape, Shawnee, Cherokee and Seneca high schools.
Meals on Wheels clients need to be home to receive the meal, so a caregiver can be there when it arrives, put it out with the rest of the day's food and sit down to eat with your father. A caregiver can also drive him to an appointment, stay through the visit, or go along to a concert at one of the high schools.

Can Burlington County take my father to the doctor?
Possibly. For an evening, a weekend, or when he'd like someone with him through the visit, a caregiver can drive him and stay.
Can a caregiver be home when Meals on Wheels arrives?
Yes. Burlington County Meals on Wheels delivers Monday through Friday between 9am and 3pm to home bound residents 60 or older, and clients need to be home to receive the meal. A caregiver can answer the door, set the meal out and have it with your parent if they like.
How do families pay for home care?
Care with Endurance is private pay. If your parent has a long-term care insurance policy, we can help with the policy paperwork. Medicare does not pay for ongoing daily help at home.
