Does Endurance Home Care provide companion care in Westhampton Beach?

Yes. We provide companion care throughout Westhampton Beach from our Stamford office. It can run by the hour, overnight, live-in or around the clock. A registered nurse visits first to plan the care with your family, and you meet your companion before the first visit.

Lunch at the library, and what else is on

The Town of Southampton holds its senior lunch in Meeting Room A at the Westhampton Free Library, 7 Library Avenue, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at noon. To register or ask about transportation, you call the Town's Hampton Bays Senior Center. The library also runs a Duplicate Bridge Club on Tuesdays from 12:30 to 3:30pm and a Games Club on Wednesdays from 11am to 1pm.

The library is open from 10am to 7pm Monday to Friday and from 11am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. A companion can drive your mother to Tuesday or Wednesday lunch, stay for a game afterward, and be with her on the Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and weekends when the library has no Town lunch.

Rides, groceries and books at home

Southampton Town has no senior center in Westhampton Beach itself. Its three community centers are in Hampton Bays, Bridgehampton and Flanders. The Town's senior shuttle takes non-driving residents to shopping, the bank and non-emergency medical visits on weekdays, with advance reservations required. Its Shopping Assistance Program, for Town residents 60 and older, sends staff to shop for a senior or helps place an online order at home.

The Westhampton Free Library delivers to patrons who can't visit because of a temporary or permanent illness or a disability. The service is free, it takes an application, and staff will choose materials if your mother would rather not. A companion can be at the house for each delivery, read aloud, or help her with the Libby app on a tablet.

Getting started

How care is arranged in Westhampton Beach

It starts with a conversation, and nothing begins until you say so.

  1. A conversation

Call or send a request. Tell us who needs help, where they live and what's been getting harder. You don't need the right words.

  2. A nurse visits at home

A registered nurse comes to the house in Westhampton Beach, gets to know everyone and writes the care plan with you.

  3. You meet the caregiver

We choose a caregiver for the routines and preferences that matter and introduce them before the first visit. If it isn't working, we find someone else.

  4. Updates as you go

Your Care Manager keeps you posted and changes the plan with you when needs change.

Credentials and recognition

    Questions Westhampton Beach families ask

Is there a senior center in Westhampton Beach?

Southampton Town's three senior community centers are in Hampton Bays, Bridgehampton and Flanders, not in Westhampton Beach. The Town does hold its senior lunch at the Westhampton Free Library on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at noon. The Hampton Bays Senior Center takes registrations and answers questions about transportation.

Can the Town help my father get to the store or a doctor?

Southampton Town's senior shuttle takes non-driving residents to shopping, banking and non-emergency medical visits on weekdays, with advance reservations required. Its shopping program for residents 60 and older can send staff to shop for him or help place an online order. On other days, or when you'd like someone with him, a companion can drive and stay with him.

Will the Westhampton Free Library bring books to my mother?

Yes, if she can't visit because of a temporary or permanent illness or a disability. The service is free and takes an application, and staff can choose the books if she'd rather not. A companion can be there for each delivery and help her return the books on the scheduled day.

How do families pay for companion care?

Care with Endurance is private pay. If your parent has a long-term care insurance policy, we can help with the policy paperwork. Medicare doesn't pay for ongoing daily help at home.
