The Glen Ridge senior jitney
The Recreation Department's jitney makes a grocery run to the Brookdale ShopRite in Bloomfield on Thursdays at 10am, for up to twelve people who register at least 48 hours ahead. Residents who register can also get a ride from home to the library and to monthly programs.
A caregiver can do the shopping with your husband on the other days and drive him to appointments whenever he needs to go. Activity times at the senior center are listed on the borough's monthly Senior Activities Calendar.

How do families pay for home care?
Care with Endurance is private pay. If your husband has a long-term care insurance policy, we can help with the policy paperwork. Medicare doesn't pay for ongoing daily help at home.
Do you provide nursing care?
No. Our caregivers handle daily life: personal care, meals, the house, medication reminders and company. Nursing and therapy come from your parent's doctor or a home health agency, and we build our hours around their plan, which is the usual setup after a hospital discharge.
