“Opinion: America's invisible elder care crisis” is an opinion column our co-founder Chris Weldon wrote himself. No reporter covered us for it. Four Hearst Connecticut titles chose to publish it: CT Insider, the New Haven Register and the Stamford Advocate on 12 June 2026, and the Greenwich Time print edition the following day.
The column argues that financing, not the care itself, is the hardest part of American elder care, and that families discover the gap at the worst possible moment. We keep it listed apart from independent reporting on the recognition page for exactly that reason.
