“Opinion: America's invisible elder care crisis” is an opinion column written by our co-founder Chris Weldon, not a reporter’s piece about us. Four Hearst Connecticut titles chose to publish it: CT Insider, the New Haven Register and the Stamford Advocate on 12 June 2026, and the Greenwich Time print edition the following day.
The column argues that the hardest part of American elder care is not the care but the financing of it, and that families discover the gap at the worst possible moment. We keep it listed apart from independent reporting on the recognition page for exactly that reason.
