How Much Does 24/7 In Home Care Cost Per Month?
We will not make you call to hear a rate. Here is the arithmetic, and here is where your number would sit inside it.
Connecticut figures, 2026
In the 2026 Long Term Care Navigator figures, Connecticut's median rate for home care is $37 to $42 per hour for home care, the base numbers behind any honest monthly estimate of 24/7 in home care.
The arithmetic, entered line by line
Round the clock care has no mystery in it. It has four lines, and once they are written down in order the monthly figure stops being a number somebody else holds.
The hours
The hours720 hrsRound the clock coverage is 24 hours a day, which is about 720 hours in a 30 day month. That figure is the same in every household.
The rate
The rate$37 to $42 / hrLong Term Care Navigator's 2026 Cost of Care tables put Connecticut's implied rate for home care at $37 to $42 an hour. Market medians measured in 2026, not Endurance prices.

The comparison
The comparison$9,118Those same Connecticut tables price assisted living at $9,118 a month and a semi private nursing room at $15,208, both billed by the month whatever the week inside it looks like.

That single line is the reason this page exists, and it belongs beside every way families pay for home care rather than on its own.
Hourly around the clock, or live-in
Endurance staffs both, and that choice moves the monthly number more than anything else on this page. An hourly around the clock schedule bills every hour that gets covered, so the footed month above is what a full hourly month looks like at the state median. A live-in arrangement is scheduled differently. No published live-in day rate exists for Connecticut, so this page does not print one.
Hold the other end of those tables next to it. A 40 hour week of home care in Connecticut runs about $6,864 a month in the 2026 figures. Nearly every real schedule a family ends up with sits somewhere between those two lines, which is why the shape of the week matters before the rate does.

What Medicare pays toward 24/7 care
Nothing, and it is worth knowing that before the first phone call rather than after it. Medicare’s home health benefit explicitly lists 24 hour a day care at home among the things it does not pay for. Custodial personal care, the hands on help with daily living that most round the clock schedules are built from, is excluded when it is the only care a person needs. This benefit is built for part time skilled services, which is a different arrangement than the one this page is pricing.

Not covered by the Medicare home health benefit.
Excluded when it is the only care needed.
A number this size is rarely paid out of one pocket. Three doors take a share of it, and each one is opened with a document rather than a phone call.
The first is long term care insurance. Endurance’s own client FAQ notes that most health insurance plans do not cover daily-living companion or personal care, while a long term care policy might, so whether a long term care policy covers home care a round the clock schedule is a question answered by reading the policy itself.
The second is CHCPE, Connecticut's Medicaid home care program program, which helps eligible Connecticut clients continue living at home instead of going into a nursing home. The third is VA Aid and Attendance, available to people who receive a VA pension and meet at least one qualifying care need requirement.
Every figure above is a market median. Your number is an hour of conversation away, and that hour costs nothing.
One call to the Client Support Line at (203) 936-6847 starts it. What gets settled on that call is the week itself: which hours are genuinely hard, who is covering them now, whether the schedule is hourly or live-in, and what a caregiver would be doing inside those hours. A plan built around that week produces a figure you can act on, which no median ever will.

At Connecticut's 2026 median homemaker rate of $37 to $42 per hour, round-the-clock hourly care runs about $26,640 to $30,240 for a 720-hour month. For comparison, the same survey's Connecticut medians are $9,118 per month for assisted living and $15,208 for a semi-private nursing room. Does Medicare pay for 24-hour home care?
No. Medicare's home health benefit explicitly lists 24-hour-a-day care at home as something it does not pay for, and custodial personal care is excluded when it is the only care needed. Does long term care insurance cover 24/7 home care?
It may. Endurance's client FAQ notes that most health insurance plans do not cover daily-living companion or personal care, but long term care insurance might.
